Instructions for making the green scapular:


Print this page and cut out the pictures of Mary and the heart.   Cut a piece of green cloth (any type of fabric) the size of this sample.  Cut a piece of green braid, cord, or narrow ribbon  the size of this sample.
Glue the heart picture to one side of the cloth.  Glue the bottom of  Mary’s picture to the other side of the cloth.  Fold or bend  the piece of ribbon and  place it behind Mary’s head as you glue the remainder of the picture to the cloth.  Cover the entire scapular with clear 2 inch packing tape.  Get it blessed.  It does not need to be worn.  Say the prayer around the heart every day.

Instructions for making the brown scapular:

Cut 2 pieces of brown wool (if  possible) about 2 inches by 1 inch.  Cut a piece of nylon cord, braid, string or shoe laces about 36 inches long.  Tie the ends together.  Fold one piece of  brown cloth over the knot and glue it together  (the knot will be glued inside).  Fold the other piece of cloth over the middle of the cord and glue it to the cord.  The cloth pieces will now be 1 inch by 1 inch.  No pictures are necessary.   Investiture is necessary.
